International Day of Zero Waste 2025: Spotlight on Textile Industry

On March 30, 2025, the United Nations celebrated International Day of Zero Waste, this year spotlighting the textile industry. Annually, this sector discards 92 million tons of waste, with the equivalent of one garbage truck of clothing dumped every second. The industry also consumes 215 trillion liters of water and contributes up to 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. ONE HERITAGE, alongside the PDD Platform, champions recycling and sustainable consumption initiatives, urging global action to reduce the fashion industry's ecological footprint. The campaign highlights the critical need to safeguard ecosystems from pollution and preserve natural resources for future generations.
